The Author
Kory L. Body is a multifaceted storyteller whose creative journey spans over 35 years. A proud native of the Inland Empire, Kory has made his mark as a children’s book author, songwriter, playwright, filmmaker, and performing artist.
His popular Fuzzy Furry Forest Adventures series includes four heartwarming titles: Ruffles, Oswald the Wise Old Owl, Sheriff Slinky Snake, and Kelly Kanga, co-written with his wife, Genevieve Body. Kelly Kanga marks the debut of the first female character in the Forest, adding new depth and representation to the series.
Kory’s mission is simple: to bring joy, encouragement, and imagination to children through stories filled with meaningful life lessons and vibrant characters.
When he’s not writing, Kory channels his creativity as a member of The Shameless Band, captivating audiences with energetic live music. He also co-hosts a podcast Take the Elevator that fosters thoughtful dialogue and uplifting stories.
Together with Genevieve, Kory co-founded The GenKo Sound Co., a company rooted in the belief that music and storytelling can heal, uplift, and empower. Whether through a book, a song, or a stage, Kory L. Body continues to inspire hearts of all ages—one story at a time.

With 30 years of service as a compassionate nurse, youth advocate, and in leadership and people development, I believe in the power of growth, kindness, and storytelling to transform lives.
As co-author of Sheriff Slinky Snake and Kelly Kanga in The Fuzzy Furry Forest series, I write to help children discover courage, connection, and emotional wisdom. Alongside my husband and creative partner, Kory L. Body, we write and create as GenKo Sound Co.
